Dr Jacob Wale Mobolaji is a demographer, statistician, public health researcher and university lecturer with a PhD (2021) in Demography and Social Statistics. His research focuses on the health outcomes of the vulnerable groups especially the senior citizens, adolescents and women of reproductive age in Africa. H leverages both quantitative and qualitative research methods to investigate the demographic, historical, lifestyle, socioeconomic, and contextual factors accounting for poor health outcomes in vulnerable groups. His research aims at creating knowledge for policy formulation, engagement and implementation to solve population problems. He uses modern technologies and statistical packages, especially R and Stata to conduct innovative and cutting-edge intra- and multi-country research using nationally representative and complex data. He has served as a volunteer and consultant for state and national projects of the WHO (2010) and UNFPA (2021-2022), respectively, in Nigeria. He is currently exploring the life course and multilevel drivers of health inequalities in urban Nigeria. Dr Mobolaji is a member of many professional bodies including the International Union of Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP), Union of African Population Scientists (UAPS), Population Association of America (PAA), Global Social Initiative on Aging (GSIA), and International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG). He was a Master-Class graduate of the Global Social Initiative on Aging (GSIA) in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a fellow of the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA).
